Northern Kentucky Algebra Community

Partners in this effort include the participating school districts, the Northern Kentucky Council of Partners, the Northern Kentucky Cooperative for Educational Services (NKCES), the Kentucky Center for Mathematics (KCM), the Center for Integrative Natural Science and Mathematics (CINSAM) at Northern Kentucky University, the Northern Kentucky Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NKCTM) and mathematics educators in the Department of Mathematics at Northern Kentucky University (NKU). The participating schools will provide a substitute for the days that the participants will miss as part of the Algebra Community and will provide other ways to support their teachers in work outside of the formal meetings. The Council of Partners will continue to support the effort through coordination and communication with all partners. The Co-op will provide support by offering a part-time staff member to provide day to day coordination of the project. The KCM will continue to provide expertise from their Center staff and coaches and assist with the online technical aspects of the community. CINSAM will provide support through their mathematics expertise and coordination with schools. The NKCTM will offer support by providing expertise from their teachers. The NKU mathematics education faculty will provide expertise, some project coordination, and will lead the research effort for the Algebra Community.
